Jenesis Duran has been an active member for LULAC since 2013. Her service of 4 years has greatly impacted the lives of her local DC community and beyond. On a micro level Jenesis has facilitated food drives for the hungry, cleaned Washington DC’s environment, advertised and represented LULAC at her school and other high schools. Jenesis established the first LULAC Youth club in the Nation’s capital and has highly politicized the effectiveness of this organization. On a macro level she has collaborated with DC, MD, VA colleges encouraging the Youth to apply and attend college. She has honored our Latin American ancestors by continuing their legacy in advocating for Latin American human rights. Nationally and internationally in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Latin America she has diplomatically traveled to set a platform for LULAC abroad. She has assisted in the planning and hosting of a Fiera De Salud on the National Mall and has joined the national Youth board to continue this benefaction. Jenesis is a staple of the LULAC image which strives for the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States and has completed this with grace, humbleness, and authenticity, rare and memorable qualities in a leader.
